International Organization for Migration (IOM) an Inter-Governmental Organization is seeking applications for below position at Tripoli.



Job Title: Driver (one positions) LY10/2018/011.



Key Responsibilities:



Drive IOM vehicle(s) for the transport, delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items as assigned;
Responsible for the day to day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc. Arrange for minor repairs and ensures that the vehicles are kept clean;
Ensure that the vehicle undertake regular service intervals and maintain cleanliness of the in and outside part of the vehicle;
Make sure that the vehicle always has full tank prior departure for field trips; and sufficient amount to drive to the airport or nearest hospital/police station.
Find the most direct routing over the best available roads to the destination;
Ensure that the IOM vehicle(s) is used only for official/ authorized business, as advised by the supervisor;
Make sure that the daily log sheet is prepared and a monthly report of prepared summarizing statistics linked to mileage, fuel consumption, etc;
Keep a high degree of confidentially and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM and its officials;
Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats to IOM officials or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and along transport routes;
Ensure that the steps requires by the local rules and regulations (pertaining to driving) are taken in case of involvement in accident;
If someone behaves in an excessive and unprovoked way towards you, the best course of action is to ignore them so as to avert any trouble to you or your passengers;
If you find yourself growing annoyed with another driver, or their behavior is worrying you, try to look confident and in control rather than angry and nervous; your priority should be to defuse the situation and leave;
Perform other duties as may be required, since the nature of the IOM missions sometimes requires working after normal working hours, or in weekend and official holidays.

Education/ Completion of high school education or secondary school. Driver’s license. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.

Experience/At least 3 years work experience as a driver with safe driving record.

Languages/Arabic native, English preferably spoken.
