Overall purpose of the role: Under the supervision of the 4Mi Project Manager, supervise and manage data collection activities by 4Mi Monitors and support project implementation. Ensure daily communication and support to field-based 4Mi monitors and various project partners.
Responsibilities: (in bullet points)
- Contribute to the 4Mi strategy in Libya;
- Daily management of 4Mi outreach teams;
- Train and provide daily support to 4Mi Monitors;
- Supervise 4Mi data collection activities ensuring the quality of data submitted;
- Work closely with support departments to make timely payments to all field-based monitors;
- In collaboration with the 4Mi ICT4D Officer, validate and clean monthly data;
- Daily monitoring and reporting of relevant information that might affect the smooth implementation of project activities;
- Collect and provide additional qualitative information concerning conditions en route, violations, number of deaths and disappearances, protection risks, economy of smuggling and trafficking, migrant intentions and aspirations;
- Contribute to the MMC research agenda and publications;
- Any additional tasks in support of the 4Mi project.
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
- At least 2- year experience in supervising teams, preferably in outreach projects;
- At least 2-year experience in data collection, conducting surveys and other research activities;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mixed migration issues, particularly within the Tunisia’s context;
- Proficiency in IT systems, including android-based applications;
- Outstanding organizational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Enthusiastic about learning and
- Strong verbal and written communication.
Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including but not limited to research methods, international development, migration studies or business administration; Master’s degree preferred
Languages: (indicate fluency level)
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic;
- Professional proficiency of French is an asset.
