MIZA Financial Services announces a vacant job for a System Engineer

Qualification / knowledge

BS in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.
Managing projects that include inter-disciplinary teams
Understanding complex system development methods
Understanding of system testing practices
Architecture modeling skills
Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks
Experience with virtualization and containerization
Experience with monitoring systems
Solid scripting skills
Solid networking knowledge
Knowledge in Security.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, non-technical staff, end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation.
Ability to work within guidelines and rigid timeframes while also having flexibility.


Technical Skills

Hands-on experience in Linux RHEL4.6 (AS / ES).
Hands-on experience in Informix DB and JBoss.
Hands-on experience in virtualization environment (VMware)
Hand-on experience in Servers, SAN storage, NAS.
Knowledge in SMPP server and client side.
Understanding of Operator IN/ platform from integration point of view.
Understanding of SMSC platform from integration point of view.
Experience of Informix and JBoss troubleshooting and maintenance.
Decent communication skills (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).


Job Description / Responsibility

Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution


System monitoring, including and not limited to:
System monitoring, including regular checking of system mails, error logs, alarms etc.
Performance monitoring for parameters like CPU utilization, disk capacity etc.
Fault recognition, isolation and forwarding the issues with some analysis to the
Level 2 Support Engineer.
Hardware administration, maintenance and troubleshooting
Operating system administration, maintenance and troubleshooting,


Database Monitoring including and not limited to:
Performance monitoring including database space maintenance, fragmentation and archiving of database data.
System monitoring including memory usage, regular auditing of backup tasks and/or execution thereof.
Fault recognition, isolation and forwarding DB related issues to Level 2 Support


Application monitoring:
Application health checking and maintenance thereof.
Access and interpretation of application logs/traces.
Fault recognition, isolation and forwarding Application related issues to Level 2
Support Engineer.
MIS / Generating Reports
Log Issues with the web based support system.


Perform other duties as assigned.
