Qualification / knowledge

BS in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.
Installation, configuration and administration of VMWare vSphere, VMware vCenter. Knowledge of VMware applications and physical infrastructure services and their integration within the virtual infrastructure.
Experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
Experience network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong customer service orientation.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, non-technical staff, end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation.
Ability to work within guidelines and rigid timeframes while also having flexibility.


Technical Skills

CCNA, CCNP or higher
Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
Administering and configuring Cisco routers/switches, which includes implementing firmware changes, OS releases and other software upgrades
Sold knowledge about virtual environment (VMware).
Troubleshooting router/network performance problems


Job Description

Network Strategy and planning
Collaborate with department heads to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Network integration with 3rd
Perform other duties as assigned.
