Position Summary:
Act as liaison for a USAID funded project to the Libyan Ministry of Health, the Primary Health Care (PHC) Working Group, and six municipalities that are piloting decentralized approaches to the provision of PHC services. This is a short-term engagement that will end the last week of September; however, an extension of up to six months may be possible depending on the candidate’s performance and the availability of funding. The position is full time and based in Tripoli. The successful candidate must be able to start immediately upon selection. Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the implementation of the PHC pilot programs in the six pilot municipalities.
Provide status report on progress achieved toward the implementation of PHC pilot program.
Acquire cost and other data on the operation of existing PHC centers from the MoH and other sources.
Participate in the work of the project and the PHC Working Group on PHC issues.
Assist the development of training materials on the PHC pilots and disseminate to the PHC Working Group and the pilot municipalities.
Perform such other tasks as may be assigned by project management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Libyan national who is a physician licensed to practice in Libya.
Minimum of ten years of experience working in the Libyan health care system.
At least five years of experience with the financing of PHC centers and/or polyclinics in Libya.
Experience working with the Libyan Ministry of Health is highly preferred.
Fluent English highly preferred.
