Car Dispatcher - International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

The ICRC Delegation in Libya has a vacancy for:

Car Dispatcher

The position will be based in the Misrata Sub Delegation

Main Responsibilities:

• Organizes and plans drivers’ duties and assignments; dispatches the assigned vehicles
• Monitors and records vehicle use and fuel consumption
• Monitors vehicles and follow up on their regular maintenance
• Follows up on the registration of vehicles, their local insurance and any related procedures with the authorities
• Keeps tracks of all vehicle movements
• Manages, reports and processes accident cases according to ICRC guidelines.
• Works night shifts as/when required.
• Carries out the duties of a driver as/when needed.
• Takes all necessary steps to implement the ICRC’s security rules and code of conduct.

Required background, skills and experience:

• Secondary school or technical/professional school diploma/bachelor degree
• Very good command of written and spoken Arabic and English
• Very good computer skills
• Two years’ work experience in a similar field
• Driving license B for at least five years
• Familiarity with all-terrain vehicles and VHF radio
• Good knowledge of the area of assignment
• Capacity to apply ICRC rules and procedures
• Very good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team
• Service oriented and flexible
• Strong sense of priorities and flexibility
• Excellent organisational and methodical abilities, sense of initiative and pro-activeness
