Electrical/Mechanical LWD Technician IV - Halliburton Oilfield Services

Under general supervision, diagnoses, repairs and performs maintenance and calibration on Measurements While Drilling (MWD) and/or Logging While Drilling (LWD) down-hole tool electronics and other equipment used in the application for down-hole operations. Areas of specialization within Product Service Line (PSL) specific shop operations may include: electronics aptitude, computer skills, soldering, surface equipment repairs, and performing major repairs. Assembles and disassembles all down-hole tools. Assist in making evaluations and recommendations for improvements on equipment based on maintenance history. Mentor and assist lower level tool technicians. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Skills are typically acquired through an Associates degree or similar education and 5 years experience as a Downhole Electrical/Mechanical LWD Tech III or equivalent tool repair experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Basic computer skills are required. Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary. The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required. Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process. Military training may be substitued for this minimum requirement, Knowledge and understanding of Job Service Order to successfully mobilize equipment upon call outs, ability to work 24 hour call and respond to call outs within one hour, Ability to accept calls for off loading equipment and complete the appropriate Quality Control documentation including shipping documents, Knowledge of HMS and Tool Operations manual and Global Maintenance Standards for specific sub PSL, ability and Authorization to accept and reject pressure tests on assemblies, ability to locate, read and understand tool drawing from PSL-specific Tool Manual, Adheres to HSE guidelines, Safety training compliance including Job risk assessments, Must have a valid driver license, assists in managing the QIP practices for the PSL/sub PSL, able to solder at a high proficiency level, ability and authority to accept and reject component parts based on the visual inspection standard, ability and authority to accept or reject tool functionality tests, requires SAP knowledge, including ability to create maintenance orders for all repair parts and labor associated with work performed on PSL equipment within assigned areas, must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing, as well as all other relevant post offer requirements for job, basic computer skills required.
