The Libya Transition Initiative 3 is an international development program in Libya. The goal of LTI 3 is to establish and manage a quick-response mechanism supporting activities that provide essential services to the community and reinforce stability to help build an inclusive and peaceful future in Libya.
LTI 3 seeks the following position to support its program. The position is based in Tripoli but will serve the needs of the project throughout Libya, remotely and with some travel. Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic are required for all positions.
Graphic Designer
The purpose of the Graphic Designer is to assist LTI 3’s Grant Management Teams (GMUs) by creating visual products to support the implementation of program activities. Working under the broad supervision of the USAID/OTI country representative and LTI3 Chief of Party (COP), the Graphic Designer will collaborate and coordinate with all members of LTI 3’s field staff to meet the graphic design needs of their activities. Some of the tasks will include:
- Creating graphic design and illustrations for print and new media products and other special media such as banners, backdrops, billboards, website images and other materials.
- Creating brand identity including logos and slogans for LTI3 partners.
- The graphic design artist will be required to design and layout print materials with artwork and or photos to include: books and manuals, newsletters, folders, billboards, leaflets, posters, brochures, and website pages.
- The graphic artist will be asked to design the artwork for a variety of items such as bags, hats, key chains, cups, calendars, stickers, document holders, and pens.
- The graphic artist will be required to research stock photographs and take photographs to be included in design materials. He or she will archive and manage all photographic material for easy retrieval and reference.
- The graphic artist will produce high quality, on-time, printer-ready products designed for public and media distribution.
- The graphic designer will perform any other task assigned by the RPMs or her designee.
Qualifications:
- Excellent working knowledge of the widely used graphic art software programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud (and specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Corel Draw.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience with a national or international organization, advertising firm, or private company
- At least 3 years relevant professional experience in still photography
- Experience in the use of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
Previous Work
Applicants are asked to provide a portfolio of samples that demonstrates the full range of their design capabilities. Applicants should submit 7 samples of previous work for consideration. These samples can be photocopies samples, electronic samples or photos of work. Please do not provide one of a kind original work as we may not be able to return it.
