Program Coordinator – Libya

The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) seeks a Program Coordinator for a program which encompasses both research and programming in Libya.  ABA ROLI’s mission is to promote justice, economic opportunity and human dignity through the rule of law.

The Program Coordinator will report to a Senior Technical Advisor based in Tunis.  They will be responsible for in-country coordination of three major assessments, as well as, possible follow up activities.  The Program Coordinator should ideally have the following skills and background:

• Excellent written and spoken English skills (required);
• Experience in carrying out research projects;
• Program management skills and experience, including budget management and report writing;
• Substantive background related to human rights in Libya;
• Events management and logistics in the Libyan context;
• Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team as well as take initiative when appropriate;
• Ability to travel to Tunisia as well as within Libya to the extent possible under current security and political conditions.
