Key responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Protection Project Manager in Sebha and Tripoli and the supervision of the Help Desk Manager, the Information Management Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining databases, information catalogs and web resources, using his/her expertise to make sure that the information they manage is safe, secure and easily accessible.
Responsibilities/duties:
Design the database for tracking of project activities;
Ensure that the work of the project team remains in line with the contractual targets outputs and outcomes in line with operational plans.
Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted;
Training and managing data entry officers
Collaborate with other sector managers and staffs to develop necessary tools/guides for project development and delivery.
Collect review screen cleaning analyse data from the field offices on regular specific interval to be used as per the donor requirement of reports and data management.
Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems;
Maintains database results by setting and enforcing standards and controls;
Prepares for database expansion by studying plans and requirements; advising senior technical management; coordinating design and programming;
Ensure that databases meet user requirements by keeping the database up to date and monitoring database efficiency;
Helping the senior management for the development of all required reports including the case studies and success stories;
Support the project team in developing writing quality project reports (monthly quarterly annual and final reports);
Keeps senior technical management informed by preparing reports on system performance and problems;
Train and educates project team on data collection tools and equipment;
Inform the management on the progress of the project activities and highlight the delays in the implementation;
Ensure that data collection and storage respect data protection protocols and confidentiality principle.
S/he will perform any other tasks requested by the Supervisor in the framework of the activities foreseen by INTERSOS program in Libya.
Other responsibilities:
Uphold the INTERSOS Code of Conduct and policies;
Ensure the respect of the core humanitarian principles: neutrality, impartiality, independence and humanity and the respect of the “do no harm” principle of humanitarian action.
Strictly follow the internal procedures and guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
University degree in Science, Engineering, Social Working and/or equivalent practical field experience, preferably with a humanitarian organization;
Ideally at least 4 years of experience in protection related sectors and database management systems, including at least 2 year of experience in emergency projects;
Extensive field experience and an in–depth knowledge of humanitarian assistance issues
Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with attention to details.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage efficiently multiple priorities, deadlines and tasks with attention to details;
Ability to communicate effectively with variety of people, and express oneself in a clear and concise way;
Excellent English spoken and written language skills.
Excellent command of MS Office;
Excellent team working skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure is necessary;
Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills;
Ability to work under high pressure;
