Community-Based Case Worker - Cesvi


Job Description

Cesvi has been one of the first INGOs intervening in Libya, as soon as the Arab Spring begun in 2011 and is carrying out a Humanitarian Protection Program in Tripoli and Misrata within different settings, included Child Protection program since 2016.

The project “Life Saving Assistance to refugees and asylum seekers in Libya” funded by UNHCR,

intends to promote a favorable protection environment for refugees, asylum seekers and irregular

migrants in Tripoli through Protection monitoring and referrals to targeted services.

 

The Community-based Case Worker will be in charge of identifying and monitoring community-based care solutions for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Tripoli and surrounding areas area.

 

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate the pool of Caregivers willing to host vulnerable PoCs in need of an accommodation;
  • Identify individuals and households willing to host vulnerable PoCs;
  • Draft and implement adequate and resilience focused Action Plans for PoCs hosted in CB Care Arrangements;
  • Conduct regular follow ups through home visits and phone calls to monitor the hosting conditions and ensure that they respect the rights and dignity of the hosted PoCs, Cesvi’s Code of Conduct, CP Safeguarding and PSEA Policies;
  • Report immediately any violation of Cesvi’s Code of Conduct, CP Safeguarding and PSEA Policies;
  • Support CP and GBV Case Workers in the drafting the Action Plan and in the follow up of Children and Survivors hosted in Community-based care arrangements:
  • Coordinate with Psychologists to ensure the conduction of Psychosocial Assessments for the Caregivers identified;
  • Prepare and participate to Panels for Cash Assistance to Caregivers hosting vulnerable PoCs;
  • Support the Capacity Building Coordinator in organizing Protection trainings for Caregivers;
  • Manage and carry out collection, analysis and interpretation of field data and prepare reports;
  • Collect and store caregivers’ contracts, assessments and any other relevant document;
  • Represent CESVI in a professional manner in meetings and ensure good cooperation with local partners and other relevant actors;
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, trainings and meetings regarding, among others, child protection, GBV and mental health;
  • Assist in performing other tasks as requested by the CDC Managers and the Project Manager.

 

Job Requirements

University degree in psychology, social work, social administration, social sciences, development studies, or a relevant field is an asset.

At least 1 year experience with UN or NonGovernmental organizations

Experience in handling cases is an asset.

Trainings in child protection and/or GBV minimum standards and gender mainstreaming are an asset.

Previous experience of work with migrant and refugee communities is an asset.

Good understanding of Protection Principles and Case Management standards

Good command of written and spoken English.

Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness campaigns

Good computer skills especially Microsoft packages.

Good organizational and management skills.

Ability to work with minimum supervision
