DRC Libya is looking to recruit a qualified, flexible professional to work in Tripoli as Protection Monitoring Officer. Under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader, and in close coordination with other DRC Protection teams and field units, the Protection Officer will participate in the implementation of all DRC’s protection objectives for Libyan and non-Libyan conflict and displacement affected populations. The Officer is an active member of the protection monitoring field team, and who who is actively involved in different field based activities that contribute to the development protection monitoring information sharing products (monthly and ad hoc). S/He will develop and maintain good relations with the other Protection Officers and Assistance, community mobilisers, the persons of concerns, relevant stakeholders and other humanitarian actors.. Your main duties and responsibilities will be: Responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following: Programming & Operations Implement DRC’s protection monitoring activities ensuring timely delivery of the agreed outputs, in accordance to international standards and flexible and respond to emergencies and influx. Coordination and representation • Represent DRC to the communities including community focal points, persons of concern and other relevant stakeholders as delegated by the Protection Monitoring team leader • Collaborate and integrate with other DRC sectors (including Site Management, Shelter, and Economic Recovery units) during field implementation and it may be advised by the Protection Team Leader. • Represent DRC towards a affected communities, stakeholders and focal persons including including individual beneficiaries and community groups, humanitarian agencies, services providers, local authorities, etc. To this end, ensure professional standards and transparent communication so as to build trust and collaboration with concerned stakeholders. Logistics/Finance As well as any other duties as may be assigned by the Protection Manager, relevant to the achievement of Protection objectives. • Contribute to the regular development protection monitoring products, including monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/ah hoc reports as requested by the Protection Manager
• Plan and coordinate proactively logistics and movements of protection monitoring staff from and to different operational areas
• Support the coordination of programme activities as they relate to logistics, administration, finances or security as relevant, in coordination with the relevant departments.
