Job Description
The WASH Distribution Assistant is responsible for implementing the distribution of NFIs within AAH project
Objective 1: Conduct assessment and beneficiaries’ selection:
- Conduct field assessment to identify geographic areas and need.
- Conduct rapid market assessment.
- Identify vulnerable groups.
- Register project beneficiaries.
Objective 2: Activities implementation:
- Responsible for successful planning, coordination and implementation of program activities including community outreach activities and distributions.
- Assist Sector Manager and monitor the general running of the WASH project activities within the scope of the project area.
- Identify program implementation modalities that enhances partnership and coordination with Government officials and local communities and internal integration within Sectors and other Programs (ex : WASH and Health).
- Support Sector Manager – WASH and the Program Manager in ensuring program quality and adherence to program objectives, including respect of AAH technical guidelines, systems, and established deadlines.
- Conduct community meetings to sensitize communities about Action Against Hunger program and beneficiary entitlements and conduct of Focus Group Discussion.
- Facilitate and Coordinate activities within AAH and between Partners in project areas.
- Undertake targeting, selection and registration of beneficiaries.
- To ensure adequate reporting and documentation of all WASH related Activities.
- Ensure the proper HR management of the sectorial team (Distribution Assistants and Hygiene Promoters)
- To assist Sector Manager – WASH for the implementation of capacity building activities through on Job Training, mentoring and coaching for Distribution Assistants and Hygiene Promoters
Objective 3: Represent the Organization:
- Explain the project’s activities and objectives to the beneficiaries and the population;
- Act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries.
- Verify and check that the beneficiaries’ lists are in link with the criteria decided before (vulnerable people).
Job Requirements

Qualifications,Degree
- Lower high School certificate or equivalent professional experience
Professional Experience
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in humanitarian related field, preferably with INGO
- Experience in NFI distribution preferred
General Skills
- Capacity to communicate with people – Good team spirit
- Good knowledge of the area and local customs
- Organizational qualities, autonomy and dynamism
- Sensitivity towards protection and confidentiality issues;
Specific/technical Skills
- Knowledge of the issues of humanitarian crises
Managerial Skills
- Able to adopt an organized and methodological approach
- Capacity to supervise a team of volunteers
Language Skills
- Fluent Arabic
- English is an asset
IT Skills
- Intermediate level MS office (Word, Excel, PPT & Outlook)
