Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
Position Summary
The HR Coordinator’s key function is to provide leadership in the implementation of HR programs, policies and procedures. Reporting to the Deputy Country Director, the HR coordinator will oversee talent management, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations and engagement, training and development, among others. The incumbent will be a member of the country senior management team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Providing leadership in the human resource department.
Developing an employee-oriented organization culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, team- work, high performance and quality.
Developing and monitoring the HR strategy for the country, while ensuring its alignment to the country’s strategy and global HR strategy.
Ensuring organizational compliance with applicable HR practice related local regulations and statutes as well as organizational procedures and policies.
Implementing HR programs and policies as needed by the organization.
Oversee talent management while ensuring smooth onboarding and separation for every employee.
Develop employee retention strategies and implement initiatives to support the same.
Champion workforce planning and participate in proposal developments providing inputs for the HR needs.
Coordinate performance management with managers and monitor employee engagement, productivity, and performance management cultures within the mission.
Supervise the quality and content of the human resource information system.
Manage the compensation and benefits process, including management of third party service providers.
Provide senior management team and supervisors with monthly HR reports to support decision making and management.
Monitor risk and exposure of the staff while fostering a healthy and safe working environment.
Working closely with the Finance Director, manage HR and administration budgets.
Lead in the introduction, implementation and review of learning and development programs.
Work closely with the legal advisor to ensure compliance with the local labor laws and manage all legal matters in liaison with the country leadership
Contribute in the creation of a positive work environment with a positive image and overall credibility of the organization notably through the code of conduct, ethics, values and stand-point with regards to internal and external actors.
Participate as a senior management team member in country management meetings.
Visit field sites and conduct HR assessment and audits, while ensuring compliance with recommended standards from the internal and external reviews.
Represent the organization at different meetings both internally and externally.
Ensure application and compliance of security protocols and policies
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
Qualifications:
Degree in Human Resources, business or other relevant degree from an accredited university
Advanced degree in Human Resources is highly desired.
At least 5 - 8 years’ experience in similar roles, preferably with a non-government organization.
Affiliation to a HR professional body highly desirable.
Solid problem-solving, decision making and business acumen skills.
Ability to mentor and supervise staff.
Ability to negotiate contracts.
Excellent communicator with ability to speak, write and read the English language desired.
Proactive in championing HR matters
Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
