Job summary
The Community Outreach Officer is responsible for ensuring that planned community services and other assistance interventions are provided to the identified people of concern in the urban communities.
Responsibilities &Tasks: Supervision of Data Entry Clerks
Planning and conducting the outreach activities within the targeted community in order to disseminate information, gather data and assess the vulnerability of the beneficiaries according to the defined Standard Operating Procedures;
Ensuring transparent, accurate and timely collection of data under the guidance of the Outreach Team Leader;
Coordinating the field activities in the urban community with the relevant IMC staff;
Conducting assessments within the urban community when needed;
Gathering routine data about the conditions, vulnerabilities, the status of persons with special needs, the need of hygiene kits and Non Food Items in the urban communities;
Conducting NFI distributions within the urban community when needed;
Organizing social, cultural and awareness raising activities for the community engagement within the community and the CDCs;
Designing and reviewing the material for the information and awareness raising sessions targeting the community members and community leaders;
Maintaining documentation of the outreach activities and assisting in tracking data related to community members, compiling and reporting the data;
Filling existing data collection tools and working on the improvement of the existing ones in collaboration with the M&E teams;
Attending and engaging in team and external meetings, support and supervision sessions;
Establishing and maintaining networks with UNHCR, NGOs and INGOs’ field staff conducting similar activities and/or covering the same communities;
Ensuring a daily update and an immediate report to the Outreach Team Leader on the situation of the protection in the urban communities and on developments that have an impact on the protection environment for persons of concern;
Keeping the Outreach Team Leader up to date and informed about the queries and requests made by IMC staff, officials and other stakeholders involved in the humanitarian field in a timely manner;
Create and contribute to the collaborative working relationship and communication between other team members;
